What is Texas Hold'em and why is it so popular?
Texas Hold'em is the most popular poker variant in the world. Each player receives two private cards (hole cards) and must combine them with five community cards to form the highest-value five-card hand. The blend of counter-bluffing, odds calculation, and psychology makes it a long-term contest of skill.
From busy cafes in Dhaka to international tournaments — Texas Hold'em is played everywhere. tc999 has brought this experience online, so you can enjoy world-class poker at a live table from the comfort of your home.
To play Texas Hold'em at tc999, simply deposit a minimum of ৳200 via bKash, Nagad, Rocket, or bank transfer and you are ready to go — no hassle.
The Step-by-Step Flow of a Hand
Pre-Flop
Each player receives two hole cards. After the small blind and big blind are posted, the first betting round begins. There are three options here: call, raise, or fold.
Stage 1Flop
Three community cards are dealt face up on the table. Players evaluate their potential hand by combining their hole cards with the flop, then make their decisions in the second betting round.
Stage 2Turn
The fourth community card — the "turn" — is revealed. The pot grows larger; bluffing and positional advantage become especially important at this stage.
Stage 3River
The fifth and final community card is dealt. The last betting round takes place here and players finalise their strongest five-card hand.
Stage 4Showdown
If more than one player remains after the river, they reveal their hole cards. The player with the highest-value hand wins the entire pot.
Stage 5Pot Distribution
The winner collects the pot. If there are side pots, each is settled separately. The dealer button moves clockwise for the next hand.

Key Strategies for Winning
Texas Hold'em is not just a game of luck — it is the skill of making decisions, understanding odds, and reading opponents. The principles below are useful for any player at tc999, whether new or experienced.
- Use positional advantage: Being close to the dealer button lets you act last — that is a significant advantage.
- Starting hand selection: Calling pre-flop with weak hole cards is harmful in the long run.
- Understand pot odds: The cost of a call versus how much you could win from the pot — this ratio is the basis of your decisions.
- Bankroll management: Do not risk everything in one session — stick to your budget and play at appropriate stake levels.
- Bluff in moderation: Experienced players quickly spot excessive bluffing.
